SHOULD I PAY A VA TO TAKE CARE OF TASKS THAT I CAN DO MYSELF?

This thought came up on a consultation call with a potential client recently, and you may be able to relate!

My now client was overwhelmed by her increasing workload, working all hours of the day and night supporting her own clients, as well as the day to day running of her business, calendar, and looking after her team.

While she really wanted to delegate some of these tasks and what she wanted help with most was managing her email inbox and calendar, she had been weighing up in her mind if paying a VA was really necessary, as it seemed like a steep investment to pay a VA to take care of these relatively 'simple' tasks.

However, my client related to me that she came to realise that what was most important to her was not just having 'anyone' take care of her personal inbox and diary, but it was essential that she found someone whom she could completely trust and that would be professional, and that this in itself was worth paying for.

We had previously worked together before I started my VA business, so it was a natural fit, and of course always great to receive nice feedback about being professional and trustworthy!

As it turned out, during the conversation and in our correspondence after, she thought of many other more 'skilled' tasks to delegate to me too.

So this conversation taught me two valuable things:

1. Sometimes it's about the value of business support in freeing up your time - how much could you charge a client for an hour of your time compared to how much you can pay a reliable VA? Is the extra time you gain worth it?

2. It's also about the value of trust! Finding someone who you can completely trust to offer your business support has a value too, and can be a real asset to busy business owners.

If you are looking for admin support and would like to discuss how I could support you in your business, please feel free to get in touch to book in a call, I would love to hear from you!
